from the band:
Building a Team

In my last article I mentioned that we are now members of the Homegrown Music Network, and that Homegrown Distribution is distributing our debut album nationally and internationally. Well, we are excited to announce that our team is continuing to grow! Last week, Joe Hanan jumped on board and is now our manager. Joe is from Tampa, FL and has recently moved to Los Angeles, where he has set up shop (to be called Tishamingo West). Joe completed his undergraduate studies at Florida State (chalk up another ‘Nole!) and he recently received his joint MBA/Law degree from Stetson University. So Joe is armed with a top-notch education, as well as hands-on experience from working with Tampa-based music promotion company, Groovetrain Presents. Joe is just who we need – a smart, energetic, and hard-working young person with a vision and belief that Tishamingo can climb to the next level in the music industry. We are thrilled to have him on board, and we truly feel like he is a gift that was sent to us from above (via Skipper’s Smokehouse in Tampa).

Joe didn’t waste any time in getting things done. He came out to Revival Ranch in Watkinsville (Tishamingo Southeast) and together we drew up a plan and shared our goals with one another. One of the major things that came out of those meetings was that we needed to fire Cameron. Don’t worry…it’s not what you think! Cameron will still be singing and playing guitar for the band. We just fired him as our booking agent. Cam has done an amazing job of juggling musical and management/booking duties since the band started, and we recognized that it was time to bring on a full-time, nationally recognized booking agency to help our band grow to the next level. Well, we are pleased to announce that we have added Rick Booth, Adam Musson and the entire crew at Intrepid Artists to our team. The crew at Intrepid will be exclusively handling the booking for the band., and Adam is Intrepid’s Artist Representative for the Southeast. Intrepid is based out of Charlotte, NC, and Rick has been in the business for fourteen years, and comes with the stamp of approval from many bands and clubs with whom we spoke. Other artists on the Intrepid roster include Dickey Betts & Great Southern, Cast Iron Filter, Blue Dogs, Chris Duarte, Tinsley Ellis, and others.

Check out their web site at www.intrepidartists.com.

We’d like to thank Bobby from the Blue Dogs for getting the ball rolling for this new relationship. We can’t get much busier out there on the road, but Intrepid will help us grow in our current markets and we will begin expanding our touring beyond the Southeast before too long.

So our team is being built and we feel great about who’s on board so far. Joe, Rick, and Adam and the rest of the Intrepid crew are going to make our lives easier and they’re going to help Tishamingo GROW. Now it’s up to us to keep making the music that is the heart and soul of it all!

Peace and see you out on the road,
Proc
